Tarbert Guide To Festivals
Argyll is famous for its festivals; highland games, highland dancing, and Scottish country music, to name a few. If you plan to visit during these times, you are strongly advised to book your accommodation well in advance as during the festivals there is an over whelming demand for accommodation. The festivals are all very well attended and people come from far and wide as these festivals are an established part of the Scottish festivals calendar. Most of the festivals have highland games, highland dancing, and music.
Tarbert Harbour Authority, Harbour Office, Garvel road, Tarbert, Argyll, PA29 6TR. Harbour is one of Tarbert’s main attractions, a real yachtsman’s paradise and this ‘safe harbour’ is easily accessible through East Loch Tarbert.
A recent expansion has seen the harbour increase its number of berths and it now boasts some 600m of pontoons and 160 finger berths which provide berthing for visiting vessels of varying shapes and sizes. The harbour also offers moorings in the inner harbour, winter berthing cheaper than anywhere else in the Firth of Clyde area, fuel, gas, showers, toilets, fax, internet access, sailmaker, laundrette, fully equipped chandlery, boat valet service and much much more. There is a new walkway linking the pontoons with the village, adjacent to which is the ever evolving amenity area which currently boasts shade sails, an outdoor gym, a barbecue, a Table Tennis table and a Boules playing area. An artificial grass and more robust and serviceable marquee are planned for 2013. For further information Telephone: 01880 820344, Fax: 01880 820 719, email.
