Argyll is famous for its festivals; highland games, highland dancing, and Scottish country music, to name a few. Black Bottle Islay Jazz Festival

Isle of Bute Jazz Festival

Bute Jazz Festival began in 1988 as a small music gathering but it proved to be a great success. Since then the festival has been staged annually on the First weekend of May (during the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend). Now this is the festival for celebration of Traditional Jazz in the Isle of Bute. However this year's festival will be expanded to include a selection of other high quality music such as contemporary jazz, rhythm, blues and folk. The new name of the Festival will be Isle Of Bute Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival. The festival is held from Thursday to Monday. Mull of Kintyre Music Festival

Mull of Kintyre Music Festival is now a regular feature and it is held regularly on the second last weekend of August every year since 1993. The festival has now expanded to include Thursdays for the 'Young Folk Night' and during 2004 the festival was expanded to Wednesday to include the 'Gaelic Concert Night'.

Tarbert Music Festival

Tarbert Music Festival is usually held every year in middle of September, however this year's festival will be held a week later. Thanks to very generous sponsors, Tarbert music festival is mainly a free festival. However, there is a small admission fee but only for the main event on Saturday Night. No tickets are needed, just show up and pay at the door. There is a collection to cover costs, please give generously!
